Blog Entry: Greetings,I am an independent filmmaker living in the US. I have been working in the IT Recruiting Business for 4 years now, specifically leveraging relationships from 3rd party visa holders and H1B Visa companies. My job is to enter into agreements with the best practicing companies and decide which are suitable business partners. I have been exposed to all sorts of disturbing insight as to the practice of these companies: low pay, improper housing situations, improper benefits, (no benefits), manipulative and misleading sponsorship & representation of visas and processing of green cards. We are approaching an area of business that is becoming a trend and giving Indian business a bad name in the US. There are thousands of these companies, of all sizes, ranging from multi-million dollar organizations to small 2 person shops operating out of their homes with 2 friends acting as consultants. I am interested in speaking with people (confidentially, or freely) re: their past or recent experiences in the Technology Contracting Industry in the United States, even if it is an anonymous email regarding a friend or colleague or story that they have heard. I am interested in all stories, opinions, both good or bad. If you feel that there are no problems with the current practices, I welcome those comments as well. I am in the process of gathering information from all. I have had several interviews already with current contractors I know have had a rough time through this process.
